What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hiring pay range for this position is $20.26 - $25.32/hour. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

What You'll Do

The Office of Councilmember Flor Alvidrez, District 7, is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant with excellent interpersonal communication skills and exceptional attention to detail. This individual is a self-starter with an inherent high work ethic. The desired candidate should be capable of maintaining a positive attitude in a high pressure, confidentiality-sensitive, and fast-paced, politically-charged environment.

This is a full-time, at-will position. This position is built around the core responsibilities of scheduling and constituent services. Social media skills are a plus. The Administrative Support Assistant for District 7 wears many hats and will pick up tasks in the below areas as needed. Please note this position will require work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Calendar management and scheduling

  • Provide the public with general and/or explanatory information, explain and clarify rules, processes, and procedures, answer questions, and resolve a variety of problems within a defined scope

  • Manage inbound phone calls

  • Examine and evaluate a variety of information to determine correctness, completeness, and adherence with requirements

  • Utilize a computer to input information/data and to create, edit, compile, manipulate, and retrieve files and/or databases and create reports

  • Operate word processing equipment to create, format, print, and revise letters, memos, reports, forms, labels, and other printed materials

  • Prepare and process a variety of documents according to guidelines

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

About You

What You'll Bring

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Bilingual Spanish/English desired

  • Experience in being detail orientated

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to respond promptly to requests/questions

  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks

  • The ability to work autonomously and be dependable as a part of a team

  • Experience using MS Office Suite

  • A focus on public servitude

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate

  • Experience: Two (2) years of clerical experience

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement

  • License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
