Administrative Supervisor/Admissions Nurse

Position Summary: The Admission Registered Nurse coordinates patient throughput from all points of entry to facilitate overall hospital patient flow.

Is responsible for receiving all communication related to patients requiring a bed for appropriate care. Collaborates with hospital staff, Case Management, Provider, and transfer centers to define, reduce and eliminate barriers within the system which may impede patient flow.

Associate#s Degree Minimum Experience:

Sufficient previous clinical experience Required License/Registration: Registration and current WV RN License Preferred Experience: 4 years of hospital nursing experience ACLS required one year from hire date PALS encouraged InterQual within 90 days of employment Visibility Board within 90 days of employment Physical Demands:

Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking Lifts supplies/equipment Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching Working Conditions: Subject to varying and unpredictable situations Regularly exposed to the risk of Bloodborne diseases Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness) Handles emergency or crisis situations May perform emergency care Subjected to irregular hours Pressure due to multiple calls and inquires
