Lone Rock School District is seeking an interim Superintendent/Principal for the 2024-25 school year.

Contract length: Through December, with option to extend based on school board's decision

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role involves overseeing all aspects of the district's operations, including curriculum development, staff recruitment, staff evaluations, professional development, budget management, and facilities maintenance. An applicant should demonstrate commitment to partnerships with all stakeholders, including staff, students, families, and our community. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving the school board in the capacity of the primary administrative leader in a school of 270 students in K-8.

DESIRED MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Be appropriately licensed and endorsed per state statutes and Board of Public Education rules, or be considered appropriately assigned if the administrator is enrolled in an internship.

Ability to write complete, clear, and accurate reports and business correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from students, parents, staff, and the community.

Ability to respond to stressful situations with patience, resilience, and creative problem-solving.

Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters related to staff, students, and their families.

Ability to efficiently manage time and administrative responsibilities while maintaining a clear focus on the school’s educational goals and priorities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside, but some obligations will be performed outside, including recess supervision, field trips, etc.  The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.

  The employee frequently will work irregular or extended work hours while performing the duties of this job.  The employee is directly responsible for nurturing and maintaining a school community supportive of the safety, well-being, and academic, emotional, and social success of every student.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, and stand; twist at neck and waist; kneel.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet environments.  May be required to lift or move up to 20 pounds.

MENTAL/MOTOR DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely performs routine work.  The employee frequently exercises flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another).  Guidance and reinforcement are infrequently available.

  The employee frequently works within time constraints and maintains attentiveness intensity.  The employee is frequently involved in social interactions which require oral and written communications.
