Job Description
Administrative duties will include but will not be limited to:
Office reception, including answering the main phone line, greeting and assisting visitors and guests
Assisting with event preparation and logistics
Filing, printing, scanning and other tasks as needed
Other administrative duties as assigned
Communications responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
Creating content and graphics for social media posts, digital signage and annual newsletter
Assisting with webpage creation and updates
Adding current news and events to the website
Other communications-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Excellent written communication and organizational skills as evidenced by application materials.
Minimum of one academic year remaining at KU.
Strong attention to detail as evidenced in application materials.
During the semester term of the appointment, the Student Hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Preferred Qualifications
Federal Work Study eligible.
Experience using Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and social media platforms.
Past volunteer, internship, or employment experience where writing and design skills were used.
