  • Employee Benefits. The Virginia Department of Social Services, Division of Local Engagement and Support is currently seeking an Administrative Staff Specialist (Regional Operations Manager) for the Eastern Regional Office.

    This position is responsible for managing the administrative operations of the Regional Office by providing procedures and guidance to staff and coordinating daily operations. May supervise administrative/clerical staff. Serve as liaison with landlord.

    Acts on behalf of Regional Director in his/her absence on designated matters. Coordinate with Regional Director, Regional Administrative Manager (RAM), Licensing Administrator and Quality Assurance Supervisor to ensure efficient and effective administration and operational support to enhance the program operations of their respective divisions. Serves as liaison with Benefit Programs and Family Services' staff housed in Regional Office and provide assistance as needed/requested.

    Minimum Qualifications Combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties of the position. Considerable experience in the human services field, particularly in the areas of administration or operations. Experience completing administrative functions that support daily operations.

    Competency in Microsoft programs, to include Excel. Must possess a valid driver's license. Considerable knowledge of business processes with the ability to:

    Additional Considerations Social Services experience at either the state or local level. Certification as a State Notary Public for the Commonwealth. Experience related to expenditures and purchases using eVA and FAAS.
