Position Summary
This position handles day to day clerical operations of the department, including the scheduling of classes and classrooms; keeping records of undergraduate and graduate student data and departmental files, and providing support to the Department Head.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Excellent communication skills
Ability to interact with others in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel.
Experience with foreign languages and cultures.
Able to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
Physical Demands
Walk up and down stairs frequently, as our building has no elevator and the department is housed on 3 floors.

Duties/Responsibilities
Greets and assists all visitors, faculty and students; answers calls and handles mail and deliveries; manages vendors and facility maintenance as needed.
Maintains departmental equipment inventory and supplies; order supplies as needed; assist with scheduling departmental meetings, maintains departmental records, assists faculty, and graduate students with various administrative needs, including expense reimbursements.
