The Administrative Specialist I to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) position provides public relations by communicating with Physicians, Staff, and the Local Community.  This position works under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.  Job responsibilities include the following:

  • Prepares agendas and takes minutes for assigned committee meetings.

  • Maintains daily calendar and on-call calendar for medical staff.

  • Completing data entry for various audit processes and pulling reports.

  • Maintains records, forms, and staff credentials for providers.

  • Independently manages the operations of the office of the CMO, including the use of various computer and office equipment.

This position will be scheduled Monday

  • Friday 8:00 am

  • 4:30 pm.

About the Walter B. Jones Center:

The Walter B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in Greenville, NC: (1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital.  The primary purpose and mission of the Walter B. Jones Center is "To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery".  The Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and SAMHSA/CSAT.  Two specialty programs are offered to all 100 NC Counties: (1) Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults and (2) Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders.

  • Demonstrated ability of taking initiative and exhibiting strong organizational skills and knowledge of medical office management procedures, methods and practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally as well as in writing using correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling, proofreading and medical terminology to compose correspondence, reports and other materials.

  • Demonstrated ability to compile, assimilate, and organize both printed and electronic information.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate a volume and variety of calendars, appointments, meetings and conferences.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize office equipment and relevant technology including Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
