Description
We would love to have you join our team at the Kentucky Department of Agriculture! Our department provides services and programs across the Commonwealth which benefit every Kentuckian each day.
This position is located in the Office of State Veterinarian in the Office Support Branch.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provides professional support to the division head. Maintain an understanding of State Veterinarian forms and procedures relating to animal movement into and out of Kentucky, applies and interprets laws, regulations and policies applicable to the administration of the agency programs.
Reviews, compiles and prepares animal health and traceability reports from electronic and physical files related to programs for the branch personnel. Process and enter data in multiple computer systems including Civet, USA Herds, and Excel. Provides support for health certificate record retention files and destruction according to the policy.
Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for data entry into USA Herds, and Intellivue scanning systems. Review Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) and animal test accession sheets for compliance and accuracy. Including but not limited to Export CVI, Intrastate CVI, Permits, Tag and Order forms.
Executes the functions pertaining to eMars for travel vouchers, utility payments, cash receipts and other monthly invoices and ensure staff complete the necessary forms for travel reimbursements and review for accuracy.
Executes the program functions of animal brands, license dealer applications and renewals, state vet email.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
