Description
The Department of Charitable Gaming (DCG) provides a regulatory framework allowing charitable gaming to thrive as a viable fundraising mechanism. The department helps to ensure the productivity of charitable gaming through appropriate regulation, oversight and education. We are looking for an Administrative Specialist Senior to join our team of highly skilled professionals.
As an Administrative Specialist Senior, you will provide professional support to the Department of Charitable Gaming's Commissioner's office. Implements and maintains various complex programs and activities while ensuring they are accurate and in compliance with charitable gaming laws and regulations KRS 238 and KAR 820. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Executes functions as they affect the Department's complex programs from charitable gaming licensees.
Ensures all financial reports are complete, accurate and in compliance with statues and administrative regulations. Maintains financial date in computerized gaming system.
Supervises and recommends policies regarding research studies to be initiated in connection with compiling complex interpretive reports and summaries of statistical information.
Creates and processes notices of violations and/or caution letters interpreting statutes and regulations.
Maintains department's offense and penalty segment.
Interprets departmental policy to the public and departmental employees.
Serves as backup to the department fiscal manager.
Posts, balance and reconcile agency's receipts manually or by data processing methods.
Processes financial transcripts, disbursements, receipts either manually or by data processing.
Gathers statistical and financial data and writes departmental reports.
Recommends policy and determinations on fiscal and budgetary matters.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
