Description
The Education and Labor Cabinet's mission is to educate, prepare and train Kentucky's current and future workforces. The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation empowers individuals with disabilities to maximize employment, achieve economic self-sufficiency and independence, and to contribute back to society. We also help businesses and employers recruit, retain, and accommodate employees with disabilities.
We are seeking an Administrative Specialist Senior to provide high-level professional administrative support to internal staff and leadership related to an agency's business operations. Performs duties in the oversight of intricate processes such as activities involving mandated regulations or procedures, comprehensive research, or collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and performs other duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees and performs processes related to collecting, verifying, and interpreting data, statistics and other information from multiple sources and departments for the accuracy of the Agency's federally mandated reports and other communications, and prepares data visualization for the efficient and effective display of data for publications when appropriate.
Facilitates the coordination of activities related to the statewide needs assessment and consumer survey, including contract fulfillment, and tracking progress.
Communicates with external agencies or organizations to facilitate the progression of reports, providing data, and making edits and relays information to the administrator and executive leadership as it relates to these activities.
Plans and executes the logistical and administrative requirements for meetings and council activities, ensuring meeting space suitability, contract completions, and accessibility measures are met for all attendees.
Communicates plans to all appropriate departments and staff.
Host all Council meetings, takes minutes, maintain, and update all files and folders in a detailed and organized manner.
Assists in the coordination, development and writings for the federally mandated departmental annual report and state plan.
Acts as a point of contact for statewide council members and public inquiries relating to the Council.
Monitors and updates appointment terms and expiration dates, engages in activities associated with the filling of vacant positions, and submission of all required documentation for council appointments in accordance with the law.
Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
