Administrative Assistant for UT and State of Tennessee staff located in the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) in Nashville and also serves as administrative liaison between the Nashville office and the main office at the Center for Transportation Research in Knoxville. Will be responsible for ensuring business documents, such as procurement card statements, travel claims, invoices, timesheets, etc. are correct and submitted to the Knoxville office to meet strict deadlines.

The position also assists with inventory for equipment, coordinates travel arrangements, orders supplies and helps to organize and implement one or two conferences per year. Additionally, the person filling this role may provide assistance to the THSO Claims Analysts in processing reimbursement requests from our grantees for federally funded projects.

This role requires one to analyze backup documentation, verify information, and perform checks for reporting accuracy to ensure compliance with the grant requirements and financial policies. Finally, the successful applicant will be required to become very familiar with University and State of Tennessee policies and procedures and be able to apply as necessary.

This position requires excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills and must be able to work efficiently as a team player in a high paced office environment. Overnight in-state travel of up to 10 days per year may be required. The individual should reside in the Nashville area.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma with four to five years office or related work experience required or bachelor's degree from accredited college/university preferred with a minimum of one to two years office or related work experience.

This position requires the ability to balance multiple tasks and to manage the needs of several supervisors with different priorities. The ability to understand and follow basic bookkeeping principles as they apply to grant monitoring is also expected.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is required with an emphasis on Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with State and Federal Grant processes/requirements is desired. Experience with IRIS account software package and sponsored project accounting within a University setting is a plus.

Salary - Market Range 04 - $26,300.56 - $47,341.01

POSITION SUMMARY: This position exists to process payroll for approximately 30 AMSURG surgery centers with individual FEINs across the United States. The position will be the primary point of contact for employees and managers who have payroll related questions and concerns. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: * Work with the HR and Finance team in center conversions to UltiPro HR/ Payroll Web including attending training sessions and converting current data from payroll provider into the new system * Serve as a payroll administrator with responsibility for export of payroll time across multiple locations including employee data entry, employee training, maintenance of system, payroll reporting, and communication with employees * Responsible for the timely approval of documented changes entered through the self-service portal * Support the input of employee data into UltiPro HRIS for Surgery Center employees * Respond to inquiries, set-up, and ongoing research for tax issues across several states and localities * Manage all activities related to garnishments and wage attachments for multiple states * Other special projects as assigned * Regular and reliable attendance is required KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Education/Experience: BS degree in Human Resources, Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience desired. Candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years payroll processing experience. Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local wage and hour and ERISA laws. Experience with UltiPro software desired.
