About the Division of Child and Family Well-Being:

At NC DHHS the Division of Child and Family Well-Being (DCFW) focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians. DCFW works to ensure that North Carolina's children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities. DCFW has complementary Public Health and Mental health programming that maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children's behavioral health services, and early intervention programs.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Child and Adult Care Food Program Manager. The major duties include developing and sending official State agency correspondence, assisting in the development of internal policies and procedures for the unit, maintaining a federally required database, creating and maintaining internal tracking systems, report writing, data collection and analysis, verifying and summarizing data, and providing assistance with overall organizational structure for the Unit.

  • Demonstrated experience in spotting errors or inconsistencies.

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and thinking critically and creatively.

  • Working knowledge of analyzing and interpreting policies and procedure guidelines and apply that knowledge to resolve problems and questions.

  • Working knowledge of organizing workflow and coordinating activities.

  • Demonstrated experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and maintaining documents in a systematic manner.

Management Preferences:

  • Some knowledge of manual and electronic data processing systems in gathering, storing, retrieving, and analyzing data.

  • Detailed oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills, Self-Starter, and great work ethic.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience;

OR

Equivalent combination of education and experience.
