Overview

Community Justice Alternatives is seeking an Administrative Specialist II!

This position performs customer service duties for the department regularly; interprets County/departmental policies, rules, and regulations in response to inquiries; conducts necessary research; routes inquiries appropriately for more complex matters and interpretation issues.

A successful applicant in this hiring process may work in the Work Release, Community Service, or Pretrial Unit of the Alternative Sentencing Department, the Administrative or Treatment Units at the Community Corrections Department, or the Records, Hiring, or Training Units while also providing general administration support to CJA Admin.

Responsibilities

Specifically, this position:

  • Determines appropriate placements for offenders completing Court Ordered Useful Public Service (UPS).

  • Process documentation from offenders completing UPS and communicate offender progress to supervising agencies (Court, Probation, District Attorney, etc.)

  • Takes phone calls and documents offenders' movement under our community supervision.

  • Provides reminder calls to offenders for upcoming court dates.

  • Builds orientation packets and prepares materials for treatment groups.

We are looking for a candidate who will:

  • Show multi-tasking and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and computer skills, including data entry.

  • Handle records requests.

  • Assist with the hiring process.

  • Log staff training hours.

  • Provide general administrative support for the program or department.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • One (1) year experience as an Administrative Specialist I or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.

Supplemental Information

The current open positions schedule is Monday-Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm. Other positions within this job title at CJA may vary.

This is a divisional posting for the Administrative Specialist II job title, with one current vacancy in the Alternative Sentencing Department. We will also create an eligibility list that will be used as positions within Larimer County's Community Corrections, Alternative Sentencing, or Community Justice Alternatives Administration become available.

Successful candidates that are placed on the eligibility list for this position may be offered part-time, temporary positions within Community Justice Alternatives as they become available. Accepting or declining an offer for a part time/temporary position will not affect a candidates place on the full time eligibility list.
