The Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) establishes rules for licensure of educators and issues licenses authorizing employment in Oregon public and charter schools. There are over 65,000 active educator licenses issued by TSPC. The agency also has the authority to sanction license holders through disciplinary action in instances where an investigation shows the educator violated the adopted Standards for Competent and Ethical Performance.
As the Administrative Specialist you will provide administrative support to the Educator Preparation and Pathways (EP&P) unit and barrier reduction programs for the TSPC. This position is instrumental in facilitating the development of resources to support barrier reduction initiatives and intersecting support materials.
Essential duties include:
Reviewing and vetting resources
Editing/writing reports and developing other content, creating and editing fillable forms, creating, organizing, and maintaining team files in cloud-based system.
Editing and inputting formulas and functions into spreadsheets and auditing of electronic information/data to support reporting accurate information to the agency and external partners.
Engaging in professional communications regarding needs and resources.
Maintaining budget/interagency reports and documents and conducting travel support.
Scheduling/maintaining internal and external meetings and communications, collaborating on the development of meeting agendas, taking meeting minutes.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
An associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Attributes:
Demonstrated experience performing administrative support functions requiring decision-making and problem resolution.
Ability to coordinate, organize multiple work assignments with frequent interruptions with varying deadlines.
Ability to learn agency programs, operations, policies and procedures, affecting assigned work.
Demonstrated experience with procedures and techniques necessary to collect, organize and report data in both a narrative and statistical format.
Proficient in the following software: 1) Microsoft Suite: including Microsoft Word, Excel (including math and lookup functions), Outlook, PowerPoint, and Forms; 2) Adobe : including Adobe Forms Design experience; and 3) Cloud-based filing systems (e.g., OneDrive)

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.
