The Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) establishes rules for licensure of educators and issues licenses authorizing employment in Oregon public and charter schools. There are over 65,000 active educator licenses issued by TSPC. The agency also has the authority to sanction license holders through disciplinary action in instances where an investigation shows the educator violated the adopted Standards for Competent and Ethical Performance.
As the Administrative Specialist 2 you will establish and maintain policies and procedures to coordinate Teacher Standards and Practices work activities, provide the Executive Director and team members organizational support to align their work and priorities to meet agency milestones, work on projects to build references for Commissioners and the public, draft and edit reports, and provide input into website development.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
An associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Attributes:
Demonstrated experience in providing outstanding customer service.
Proven track record of successful communication and collaboration with individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiences, cultures, and who speak languages other than English.
Demonstrated experience in scheduling, project management, organizing meetings or events for up to 40 people.
Intermediate knowledge of virtual tools such as Zoom, Teams, or Google Meets and use of MS Office suite of tools.
Work and/or volunteer experience in a PK-12 or higher education preferred.
Preference Statement:
Preference will be given to those candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and English.
