The Opportunity:
The College of Journalism and Communications, Graduate Studies and Research Divisions provide one of the premier research division and graduate communication program in the United States. Our graduate program includes in-residence and online master's degrees, graduate certificates, combined undergraduate and graduate degrees, and a Ph.D. program, while our research division supports grant and research activities within the college for both faculty and students.
We are seeking an Administrative Specialist III to focus on financial management of the divisions and program organization for GAs and Doctoral students. Looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a culturally diverse environment. Strong customer service and communication skills are a must.
Key duties:
Financial management
Follow GAAP
Manage financial balances, funding, and expenditures
Reconcile accounts monthly
Coordinate purchases
Manage GA and adjunct costs
Payroll distributions
Initiate, track and close, as well as act as default custodian for Research Participant Payment request for the College
Coordinate travel for divisions
Manage UF GO, UF market, reimbursements, PO's, etc.
Coordinate and manage GA, adjunct, and 9-month faculty summer contracts
Graduate student/GA/Doctoral coordination
Coordinate scholarship and awards programs
Enter tuition waivers
Manage doctoral visitation

Expected Salary:
$65,000 - $70,000 annually
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of finance, budgeting, and travel.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with GAAP.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of graduate education.
Knowledge of People Soft, SIS, UF Go, my UF Market, voucher payment, POs, etc.
Knowledge of data visualization software and skills.
