The Education and Labor Cabinet's (ELC) mission is to educate, prepare and train Kentucky's current and future workforces. The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation empowers individuals with disabilities to maximize employment, achieve economic self-sufficiency and independence, and to contribute back to society. We also help businesses and employers recruit, retain and accommodate employees with disabilities.
We are seeking an Administrative Section Supervisor to provide direct supervision for the Charles McDowell Rehabilitation Center Consumer Services Section in performing supervisor tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, supervise and review the work of employees.
Approve leave and overtime according to policies and procedures.
Monitor and evaluate employee performance.
Counsel's employees regarding work-related problems, issues corrective actions, recommends disciplinary actions when appropriate.
Coordinate and/or oversee consumer services from initial referral to discontinuation of services.
Schedule and facilitate consumer staffing.
Chair admission committee and serve as a member on the intervention committee.
Lead consumer meetings.
Coordinates schedule for all staff to ensure 24 hour staff support for consumers.
Conducts staff meetings and ongoing training.
Monitors staff reports.
Communicates concerns and updates regarding consumers services to Facility Administrator during weekly meetings or as needed.
Monitor budget to ensure efficiency.
Fills in for facility manager as needed.
Interprets and enforces agency rules, regulations and policies. Recommends revisions to rules, regulations and policies when needed.
Serves as oncall manager in rotation.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional administrative experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for- year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
