The primary purpose of the position is to complete assigned Medical Staff Services Department duties to support the operation of the department.

Pay range: $15.00-$23.25/hour


  • Notifies departments of new and department members of the Medical Staff and AHP's.

  • Submits changes in practitioner directories.

  • Responsible for maintenance of expirable credentials of Medical Staff members and AHP's, in the credentialing software program, and in the practitioner's credentials file.

  • Maintains current privileges in Image Silo program.

  • Assists with preparation and distribution of EMTALA call schedules.

  • Maintains five (5) years of EMTALA call schedules.

  • Provides affiliation verifications.

  • Processes correspondence, and maintains record of correspondence, regarding delinquent medical records.

  • Creates packets for medical staff committee meetings.

  • Types and distributes correspondence for IMMC/ILH Department/Committee support.

  • Types updates in the Medical Staff Bylaws, manuals and policies.

  • Types medical staff surveys and ballots and complies results.

  • Mails and collects medical staff annual dues.

  • Schedule medical staff meetings as assigned.

  • Assists departments and sections with their meeting notices and agendas on an as-needed basis.

  • Processes requests for medical staff mailing envelopes/labels.

  • Monitors the supply of provisions in the physicians' lounge and reports problems to appropriate departments.

  • Distribution of mail for the department.

  • Answers the telephone for the office.

  • Orders office supplies.

  • Supports the Credentialing Specialists and the Manager with creation of file folders and file documents.

  • Courteously greet and assist member of the public, the medical staff and other hospital personnel.


High school dipoma/equivalent required. Medical terminology preferred. Previous health care experience preferred.

The Iowa Department of Public Health is looking to fill an Office of Medical Cannabidiol Compliance Analyst (Management Analyst 3) to assist the state. Under the direction of the Program Director and with functional oversight from the Program Manager, serves as the Compliance Analyst to provide management support to the Office of Medical Cannabidiol (OMC). Ensures the security, stability, integrity and efficient performance of the in-house information systems that support core program operations and functions, including manufacturing, dispensing, and the patient registry/e-Payment/e-Signature systems. Supports and maintains software applications in adherence to standard operating procedures. Serves as the liaison between OMC, the Bureau of Information Management, and the Office of the CIO (OCIO). Also serves as liaison between OMC and manufacturers, dispensaries, laboratories, IT system managers and vendors, and system support teams to ensure consistent flow of program data and appropriate system security, controls, and audit logs are in place. Leads system testing and user/systems acceptance testing for system changes and enhancements. Documents use cases, test scenarios, and test cases; works with vendors and system support teams to ensure issues are resolved; and executes production of enhancements. Develop test plans to verify logic of new or modified applications. Plans, coordinates, tests, and communicates changes, upgrades/maintenance schedules, and new services with vendors, the Bureau of Information Management, and clients, ensuring business operations will operate correctly in current and future environments. Establishes new administrator and service accounts, and facilitates or provides training to end users. Provides technical assistance to the patient registry clerk specialist and the patient and caregiver registry end-users. Analyzes system and program data to ensure proper program and system operations, compliance of licensees with regulations and policies, and quick detection and response to problems or issues. Develops and maintains performance dashboards, runs routine and ad hoc reports, provides feedback to the Program Manager and Director, and makes recommendations for revised, improved, or new management policies, practices, procedures, and methods. Monitors industry standards and developments in sampling, testing, security, and inventory tracking, and recommends changes to program policies and regulations. Assists in drafting new policies, procedures, program and laboratory standards, and administrative rules, as needed. Participates in licensee compliance site visits and inspections, ensuring reconciliation between data in the secure data system and inventory at manufacturers, dispensaries, and the laboratory. Monitors progress of licensees toward program goals and time lines, and holds regular calls with licensees to ensure progress. Assists program manager with requiring action plans when licensee non-compliance is discovered, and monitors licensee compliance with completion of the action plans. Applicant must pass background check prior to employment. Selectives 086 Business Systems Analyst 6 months' experience, 12 semester hours, or a combination of both in identifying, documenting, and analyzing business requirements and proposing large and/or complex technology solutions, serving as a conduit for communications between business users and information technology. And 737 Information Technology Project Management A minimum of 6 months experience, 12 semester hours, or a combination of both, where the applicant has received training in or been in charge of information technology projects that included some or all of the following: * Coordinating professional, paraprofessional, and technical personnel involved in the development of new and/or maintenance and operation of existing information technology systems; * Responsible for multiple business and/or computer applications through the development and support phases; * Initiates in systems analysis studies; * Evaluates overall and individual work performance to determine effectiveness in providing quality products within time and cost restraints; * Prepares or reviews written and oral reports of proposed information technology systems; * Directs applications systems planning and budgeting, and acquisition and acceptance of new equipment for the department; * Monitors time and dollar expenditures to ensure projects and budgets meet established targets; * Reviews computer programming techniques and computer usage to ensure efficient and effective procedures are utilized; * Develops analysis and programming guidelines and documentation standards; * Evaluates and makes recommendations for needed project team and/or customer training; * Reviews the designs of computer applications to ensure that all requirements are satisfied; * Reconciles conflicts within and between staff regarding resources, deadlines, and standards; * Writes periodic progress, project status and problems resolution reports for management review. Coursework or experience limited to straight computer programming, systems analysis, or web development is not applicable; the applicant must have education or experience aimed at project management where the applicant was the primary party responsible for the project. The applicant may have also performed other duties or supervised other staff but that is not required as long as the applicant was in charge of managing the information technology project or have taken coursework concerned with managing information technology projects. Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: * Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business or public administration, management information systems, industrial management, or statistics, and experience equal to three years of full-time work in management analysis or project management. * Seven years of full-time work experience in management analysis or project management. * A combination of a total of seven years of education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience. * Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as a Management Analyst 2 or two and a half years as a Management Analyst 1.
