Terms of Employment:
12 months/230 days per year. Compensation is at Paraprofessional/Clerical Job Group 5 on the SAISD Compensation Plan. Entry level is at an hourly rate of $17.06 with additional consideration for directly related experience full-time experience.
Assist in the attainment of district objectives by ensuring that office management is conducted in an effective manner.
Demonstrated proficiency in general office management, and procedures.
Knowledge in computer software programs to include word processing, database, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Excel.
Possess interpersonal and communication skills; must have high level of integrity regarding department records.
Complete work with many interruptions and work independently.
Ability to work as a member of a team to provide assistance to department staff.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions with limited supervision.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Assist staff as needed.
Greet visitors/staff with professionalism and courtesy.
Maintain and assist with operation of office equipment/machines as needed.
Monitors and maintains inventory of supplies, forms, and other materials; initiates ordering process as necessary.
Skill in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks required for own work and work of others, as needed.
Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships.
Communication and Phones
Schedule meetings and appointments for administrative staff and maintain calendar for administrator.
Answers incoming phone calls by providing information, taking accurate messages, screening requests on behalf of supervisor, or referring calls to appropriate person; places calls to obtain and/or research information for administrative personnel.
Records and Reports
Perform general office procedures including typing, filing, mail, duplication of materials, data processing, editing and general bookkeeping/recordkeeping, and monitor the appropriate use of department budget.
Prepare and edit correspondence/reports for supervisor.
Assist with processing department reports, documents, directed by administrator.
Maintains supervisor's calendar and schedule; makes appointments and travel arrangements; plans and arranges conferences and special events by ensuring that any necessary rental/reservation arrangements are made.
Maintain general office files: save/store required documents per policy and administrative procedures.
Create and maintain spreadsheets to document and track department initiatives.

Participate in district and campus staff development programs that improve job related skills.
Use effective communication skills with district personnel.

Equipment Used: Calculator, computer, printer, copier, fax, multiline telephone, and other equipment applicable to position.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes, humidity extremes, noise, low or intense illumination, vibration, biological hazards, working on uneven surfaces, working alone, working prolonged or irregular hours.
