Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Program Assistant (APA) to work in the Greater Oregon STEM Hub on campus. The position is a Full-Time 12-month position at a 1.0 FTE, and is a limited duration. Position reports directly to the Executive Director of GO STEM.

The Greater Oregon STEM Hub (GO STEM) is a regional cross-sector collaborative working to improve and guide integrated science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in eastern Oregon communities. The Greater Oregon STEM Hub is a collective impact partnership that is part of a statewide network of STEM Hubs supported by Oregon Department of Education.

The Greater Oregon STEM Hub is tasked with leading the efforts of partners to create and deliver STEM education program designed to break through systemic barriers, provide inclusive access, open opportunities and build confidence in K-12 students. GO STEM provides engaging learning experiences that promote and inspire educational and personal success among the educators and students it serves.

The position directly supports all GO STEM staff, including (but not limited to) the executive director, program director, contractors, and student employees.

This position interfaces regularly with the College of Education and faculty and staff, as well as the Finance department, Career Center, and general public.

The purpose and goal of this position is to assist GO STEM staff in ongoing GO STEM operations and grant management. The Administrative Program Assistant provides support to the Executive Director by assisting in travel plans, personnel expense management, grant finance tracking, grant projections, grant applications, maintenance of the GO STEM lending library, communications (website, email, and social media), general program management and research, analysis and evaluation of data in support of operations, and management of student employees.

The Administrative Program Assistant (APA) coordinates plans and communications with the other STEM hubs, the general public, and hub partners. The APA will typically be the first point of contact for the general public.

Essential Functions: * <li>Ensures accurate and timely testing of collected specimens. * Assists MT's and MLT's in performing tests within the areas of Molecular, Immunology, and Microbiology. * Assists in operating complex automated laboratory equipment, electronic equipment, computer software, and precision instruments. Provide trouble-shooting on such instruments as far as possible. * Participates in some aspects of proficiency testing. * Understands and adheres to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations to assure patient confidentiality. * Actively participates in departmental quality assurance monitoring. * Follows all established improved quality (I.Q.) protocols. * Follows established safety protocols. * Performs other work related duties as the needs of the team evolve. * Accepts results as training and complexity allows.
