Job Summary/Basic Functions

The College of Education and Applied Human Sciences at Eastern Kentucky University invites applicants for the full-time position of Administrative Professional II. This position provides high level administrative and professional support to the Dean, faculty, staff, and students of the College through coordination, communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and office management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing routine clerical and administrative functions, providing information to visitors, and using EKU digital platforms such as Banner, SLATE, and Jaggaer. Services provided include written communications, meeting and resource management, data management and analysis, scheduling, organization, conducting research, and coordination of activities across departments within EKU.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Certification or graduation from a four (4) year college or university.

Experience: Five years of progressively responsible clerical, secretarial and/ or administrative support is required.

Job Duties:

  • 40% - Manage the operational activities of the Dean's office, set priorities; establish and assign priorities; ensure schedules are maintained and deadlines are met; develop processes and procedures for the College; maintain supplies and facilities. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to exchange information, resolve issues or concerns, and coordinate activities including special events for the College. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Support College hiring, track faculty and staff employment, maintain employment files. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Assist in implementing and monitoring strategic plan for College. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Support the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - (Essential)
