Major Duties and Responsibilities
Supports Communications division under direction, provides administrative & non-routine administrative support; independently formulates decisions &/or judgments involving non-legal interpretation of policies & procedures as they would apply to given situation to resolve problems; prepares correspondence, presentations, &/or reports, to carry out assignments; supports program areas within the department; handles sensitive inquiries from the public; maintains confidential files; organizes conferences & maintains meeting agenda; manages calendars, meeting agendas, & minutes; serves as Division of Communications liaison with Ohio Department of Children & Youth (DCY) to receive & disseminate information; supports forms process management, internal & external communications & marketing, public relations, budget work, event planning, website, SharePoint, & social media content management, digital & promotional assets management, PowerPoint presentation development/editing/updating, list management, & more; assists in editing, writing correspondence; project management; may coordinate & represent the agency at community &/or partner events (booth set up, participation, tear down, etc). Some travel may be required.
Performs other administrative duties (e.g., coordinates acquisition & maintenance of office equipment [e.g., copiers; printers; telephones]; researches cost information for purchase of new equipment; ensures office equipment is operational & functioning properly; completes minor maintenance [e.g., replaces toners, drums, & rollers]; troubleshoots; makes reports when issues with equipment cannot be resolved; arranges for on-site repairs).
Participate in Agency meetings, events.
Hybrid Work Details
Subject to DCYs teleworking policy and an approved teleworking agreement, this position is eligible to work from a remote location on a hybrid basis. The selected applicant may be required to complete initial trainings prior to being eligible to telework. All requests to telework are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by DCY's Deputy Director of Human Resources and management, subject to the conditions outlined in the agency policy and teleworking agreement.

Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
Or 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
Or 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2,16872.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
