An Administrative Officer, GS, 0341, 12, Ensures internal systems and procedures for carrying out the organization's administrative functions meet the requirements of balancing costs, benefits, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Initiates, plans, directs, and/or participates in special studies and projects in areas such as; resource utilization, personnel management, logistical support, knowledge management, readiness programs, etc.
Represents the Wing in meetings with congressional, state and local officials, special interest and business group spokespersons to market and advertise ANG programs, activities, and requirements to gain support for ANG missions. Collaborates and consults with Wing Public Affairs Officer (PAO), drafts, develops, and finalizes narrative, prepares and coordinates news releases with State JFHQ to support communication with local media, high-ranking public officials, corporate leadership, civic groups, other reserve components, Air Force, Army, National Guard Bureau (NGB) and respective headquarters staff representatives. Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: AFSC: 38F3
Upon selection, individual must be assigned to a compatible military position and must also maintain satisfactory membership in the Minnesota National Guard.
Upon selection, individuals will undergo a background check to validate suitability for employment with the federal government as permitted by law, regulation, Presidential order or other authority. Suitability is dependent upon the particular requirements for security clearance, sensitivity level, and DOD IT network access. Items checked include, but are not limited to all criminal history record information, employment history, education and fiscal accountability/responsibility.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems.
Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions. Experience preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence.
Experience evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources. Experience utilizing the organization, its mission and the organizational staff procedures. Experience using quantitative and qualitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of administrative and technical programs.
Experience developing the mission and work processes of programs throughout the military organization and multi level agencies. Experience in analytical and investigative techniques.
