Summary

A successful candidate in this position will oversee the day-to-day operational oversight and management of the office and maintains an overall cognizance of assigned administrative activities. Provides management of and support of the organization on crosscutting administrative issues and/or concerns.

Responsibilities

As a Administrative Officer, you will:

  • Oversees/Administers the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Program Manager, Operations Manager and Support Manager to maintain continuity and coordinate activities. Offers alternative to address organizational needs and provides recommendations on carrying out or completing the Program Managers' priorities.

  • Serves as the federal point of contact in the management of the Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center (EMCBC) federal and contactor badges and clearances.

  • Meets regularly with sub-organizational with administrative, secretarial and support staff to assure that they are familiar with Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM), EMCBC and EM Nevada (NV) office guidance, governing interoffice controls and coordination, correspondence requirements and procedures, records controls and disposition, reports requirements, or other admin requirements and procedures

  • Ensure administrative staff track organizational commitments and takes subsequent actions and follow-ups with senior management and staff to ensure receipt of actions and accuracy of due dates entered into action tracking systems.

  • Manages processes, technology, and admin coverage is in place to receive and screen all telephone calls and visitors and to process administrative scheduling of meetings, briefings, and conferences for EM NV management.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Grade 11: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as researching, communicating and developing policies and internal operational procedures; and maintaining files and records (i.e. personnel, financial, and confidential memoranda); providing administrative support on badging and/or credentialing.

Education: Applicant may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a deree, or a LL.M., if related

OR

A combination of education and experience. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial or office transcripts submitted with your application.

Grade 12: Qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as auditing; reporting; managing and providing administrative support on personnel actions and issues; coordinating special projects to support administrative operational needs; and serving as a liaison designated for badging and credentialing and safe guarding classified information.
