Incumbent manages, directs, and coordinates center-based nutrition services, home delivered meals, and the farmer's market program for the older consumers of Allegheny County. The incumbent has knowledge and comprehension of nutrition to advise on technical matters and serve as a resource on the subject. The incumbent acts with considerable independence in the administration and oversight of the DHS/AAA Nutrition Program. The Administrative Officer 2 will also be involved in the overall coordination of the senior center component of the Community Based Services Division. Reviews, analyzes, and implements policies and procedures as established by Federal, State, and County regulations governing the Nutrition Services Program for the Division and for contracted provider network. Develops and analyzes menus for the congregate and home delivered meal programs using the Food Processor Program (Nutrition Analysis Software). Coordinates distribution of menus to provider agencies, county website, and monthly publications.

  • Full-time employment.

  • Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with an hour lunch period.

Receipt of a Covid-19 vaccination: You must provide proof of a Covid-19 vaccination. You will need to be fully vaccinated or have at least one shot of a two-shot series before beginning work. If you do not receive and provide proof of the second shot within 30 days your probationary employment will be terminated. Allegheny County will allow for medical and religious exemptions from the requirements in accordance with state and federal law.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as an Administrative Officer 1;OR three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; ORany equivalent combination of experience and training.

Essential Functions of job: a. Follows Written Care Plan established by the Registered Nurse if applicable b. Provides Personal Care which may include: bathing, shampooing, dressing, shopping, preparation, and serving of meals. c. Assists the consumer with moving around including but not limited to: aid with getting in and out of bed, from their bed to a wheelchair, on and off toilet, in and out of the bathtub, seated position to standing with a walker, and other assistance moving around as needed. d. Provides assistance with housekeeping, which may include: dishwashing, dusting, laundry, linen changes, sweeping/vacuuming, and cleaning rooms, windows (inside only), cabinets and appliances. e. Interacts and engages in conversation with consumer. f. Reminds consumer to take their medications. g. Demonstrates appropriate safety measures when providing care. h. Recognizes emergencies; follows emergency procedures as well as instruction provided by emergency personnel. i. Reports immediately to the agency, upon each incident, all known information regarding consumer hospitalization and discharge from hospital. j. Informs supervisor of any unexpected or unusual changes in the consumer's condition, behavior, environment, and family situation. k. Maintains confidentiality of consumer records and related information in accordance with HIPAA and agency guidelines. l. Encourages consumer's independence in performing life activities. m. Establishes positive rapport with the consumer and their family. n. Follows Universal Precautions and Infection Control procedures. o. Notifies consumer and supervisor of unscheduled absences in accordance with agency policies and deadlines. p. Completes and submits timesheets weekly and the schedule of consumer visits monthly. q. Comprehends and follows all Agency policies and procedures. r. Maintains up-to-date CPR, First Aid certifications and other compliance documents where applicable.
