Are you an Executive Assistant looking to transition into management? If so Rush University Medical Center is seeking a self-motivated and problem-solving Administrative Manager.

Position Highlights:

This position will serve in our Emergency Medicine at Rush University Medical Center! The incumbent will provide high level dedicated administrative support to the Chairman. The Administrative Manager's primary responsibilities involve departmental or section activities. This includes management of staff or a function in research, academic and general administration, and financial and/or budgetary activities. The Administrative Manager also may be assigned management of an area within the MSP /PBC. The Administrative Manager position requires a motivated, well-organized, and conscientious individual who is able to manage multiple tasks at the same time.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Management and administration of departmental or section processes. May include residency and fellowship program facilitation, on-boarding, credentialing, coordination of departmental re-credentialing and promotion activities, and orientation for faculty, staff and or fellows. May also include responsibility for management of a non-clinical area within a departmental MSP or PBC.

  • Acts as a liaison between physician leadership, staff or resident physicians, and other RUMG, RUMC, or GME/RMC departments.

  • Works closely with key physician and administrative leaders in the department or section, which may include participation in strategic planning, project management, philanthropic initiatives, or marketing initiatives.

  • May assist with the preparation of educational conferences and publications.

  • Responsible for the training and orientation of support personnel including maintaining files for employees, identifying and reporting assessment of staff needs.

  • May supervise staff and provide input for performance evaluations.

  • Assures the smooth operation of the area, serving as a resource and problem solver, overseeing the ordering and processing of supplies, equipment, maintenance, and work orders. Routes paperwork through necessary channels; provides follow-up as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Management experience preferred.

  • Healthcare experience preferred.

  • A minimum of one to two years supervisory experience required.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Proficient in basic Microsoft programs.

  • Familiarity with physician schedules preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize and multi task in a fast paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Draft and customize documents of low to the highest complexity based on member benefit and cost share data changes from the product portfolio or business areas. * Draft standard and non-standard contract language. * Negotiate with customers to develop benefit plans. * Draft special instructions/procedures for the Contract Administration Reference Library. * Responsible for filing within the guidelines of the State and Federal required artifacts. * Prepare responses to comments/questions from Stakeholder, Account Managers, Legal partners, and state peers. * Meet and sustain acceptable quality levels or above on accuracy and document delivery, based on departmental standards. * Communicate progress on drafting and filing development as well as assembly of the final member booklets * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in database. * Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc. * Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies. * Maintain complete confidentiality of company related business. * Maintain effective communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: * J. D. degree or 4 years of experience in a leadership role with independent decision-making. * Knowledge of external adjudication processes. * Knowledge of large or national account contract specifications and processing systems. * Knowledge of corporate marketing practices, health insurance product lines and Par Plan operations.
