Position Summary

This role manages key administrative operations for the Office of Dean, including prioritizing the daily activities of the Dean. The incumbent effectively manages a broad range of projects, including both internal and external activities and events for the Dean; supervise office operations and staff; administer annual budget for the Office; respond to correspondence and inquiries independent of the Dean's involvement and determine when to escalate matters, exercising exceptional independent judgment and discretion. This role may also support the Chief of Staff to the Dean for parallel functions.


Required Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:5+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience with complex and sensitive scheduling, planning and implementing activities and events, and supervising staff and operations.Preferred Experience:Experience in an academic environment.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent planning, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Ability to develop, implement and interpret policies and procedures and communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to a diverse population. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

The Administrative Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations and manage a high volume of confidential information for the investigative team.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Respond to in-person, online, and phone inquiries about the role and purview of EOAA, its informal and formal investigation processes, and other investigation-related questions and concerns.</p></li><li><p>Gather intake with individuals presenting concerns implicating Columbia University's EOAA Policies and Procedures. Assess information obtained to refer the matter to the appropriate office in consultation with the Director of Investigations.</p></li><li><p>Serve as a resource by connecting campus community members with applicable on-campus and off-campus resources.</p></li><li><p>Provide updates on inquiries and intake matters to the Director of Investigations to determine patterns and problem areas and discuss possible resolutions.</p></li><li><p>Partner with the investigative team regarding outreach, scheduling, and other correspondence with parties to an inquiry or investigation.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with the investigative team regarding maintaining electronic files of inquiries and investigations.</p></li><li><p>Work with investigators regarding notetaking and transcription of notes.</p></li><li><p>Conduct scheduled audits of electronic files to ensure completion.</p></li><li><p>Provide technical support regarding Maxient to the investigative team.</p></li></ul><p>Minimum Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required.
