Roles & Responsibilities:
TheAdministrative Manager oversees the administrative, operational and financialactivities of a department or medical care unit, typically with oversight of1-2 areas. Ensures the successful coordination and delivery of the day-to-dayoperations including staffing and administration of policies and procedures.
Establishesmajor schedules, task assignments and allocation of manpower, space andequipment to ensure conformance with departmental goals and objectives
Administersdepartmental contracts and grants in accordance with MSMC policies and sponsors'requirements regarding the maintenance of records, reports, controls andconditions governing expenditure of funds
Recommendschanges in operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with theorganization's guidelines. Ensures activities are in compliance with federal,state and local regulations and/or guidelines
Assistsin the determination of fiscal requirements and prepare budgetaryrecommendations; monitors, verifies and reconciles expenditure of budgetedfunds
Ensuresthe adherence to budget parameters
Maintainsliaison with all levels of administration, faculty and/or outside organizationsto coordinate operational activities, to accomplish directives and to facilitatethe resolution of problems
Preparesoperational and financial reports and analyses. Setting forth progress, adversetrends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions
Mayserve as the department's liaison with administrative and professional staffregarding MSMC policies and procedures, personnel administration, grantadministration and budgetary preparation and control
Interpretsand administers personnel policies such as hiring, performance appraisals,training, disciplining and salary recommendations. Ensures compliance withfederal, state and local regulations regarding equal pay and equal employment
Assistsin the planning of short and long-range goals for the department, unit ordivision. Prepares and evaluates proposals to implement new programs and expandexisting ones
Assistsin the implementation of quality assurance programs and monitoring activitiesto meet standards and regulations of accrediting agencies such as JCAHO, CARFand New York State and City Department of Health
