Roles & Responsibilities:

TheAdministrative Manager oversees the administrative, operational and financialactivities of a department or medical care unit, typically with oversight of1-2 areas. Ensures the successful coordination and delivery of the day-to-dayoperations including staffing and administration of policies and procedures.

  • Establishesmajor schedules, task assignments and allocation of manpower, space andequipment to ensure conformance with departmental goals and objectives

  • Administersdepartmental contracts and grants in accordance with MSMC policies and sponsors'requirements regarding the maintenance of records, reports, controls andconditions governing expenditure of funds

  • Recommendschanges in operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with theorganization's guidelines. Ensures activities are in compliance with federal,state and local regulations and/or guidelines

  • Assistsin the determination of fiscal requirements and prepare budgetaryrecommendations; monitors, verifies and reconciles expenditure of budgetedfunds

  • Ensuresthe adherence to budget parameters

  • Maintainsliaison with all levels of administration, faculty and/or outside organizationsto coordinate operational activities, to accomplish directives and to facilitatethe resolution of problems

  • Preparesoperational and financial reports and analyses. Setting forth progress, adversetrends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions

  • Mayserve as the department's liaison with administrative and professional staffregarding MSMC policies and procedures, personnel administration, grantadministration and budgetary preparation and control

  • Interpretsand administers personnel policies such as hiring, performance appraisals,training, disciplining and salary recommendations. Ensures compliance withfederal, state and local regulations regarding equal pay and equal employment

  • Assistsin the planning of short and long-range goals for the department, unit ordivision. Prepares and evaluates proposals to implement new programs and expandexisting ones

  • Assistsin the implementation of quality assurance programs and monitoring activitiesto meet standards and regulations of accrediting agencies such as JCAHO, CARFand New York State and City Department of Health

  • Performsother related duties

Requirements:

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in business related field preferred, or equivalentcombination of education and applicable work experience (some in a supervisorypreferred)
  • Experience:4 years of related business experience with competency in applying generalpersonnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles and coordination ofone or more major administrative functions

Research Program Coordinator,2358366 Roles & Responsibilities: The Research Program Coordinator develops and/orparticipates in study protocols, designs management and statistical plans,analyzes data and prepares final reports from study. This position isresponsible for human subjects or laboratory research, depending on departmentand type of study assigned. * Provides assistance and consultation on basicresearch or clinical trials methodologies and statistical analysis issues * Participates in the primary analysis ofevaluation datasets * Designs and implements research projectsfocusing on health and interventions and their associated health outcomes * Assists evaluation staff in project design,appropriate procedures and conduct and coordination by establishing sample sizerequirements, calculating issues associated with various evaluation designoptions and consulting on appropriate statistical analysis for proposedevaluations * Documents and records observations onprogress of research, investigations and data per regulatory requirements andMSMC protocols * Supervises subordinate personnel and offersguidance on research methods and techniques * Provides assistance to the PrincipleInvestigator or Research Manager on grant applications * Assists in the development of budgets forresearch projects * Completes grant applications and proposals bydeveloping pilot studies and generating pre-clinical data * Completes all Institutional Review Board(IRB) or IACUC and other regulatory applications and renewals * Develops consent forms, screens and enrollspatients, follows patients through course of study, collects and analyze data.(Clinical Research Only) * Develops policies and procedures within areaof responsibility. Writes and amends protocols as necessary * Participates in conferences, meetings andseminars concerning research and surveillance projects * Collaborates with fellows on research projectsand papers to be published * Maintains and submits the regulatoryrequirements for the FREEDOM Clinical Coordinating Center at Mount SinaiMedical Center.
