ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER, CHAIR'S OFFICE
Provide ove rall administrativemanagement and coordination of a variety of business- related functions such asfinance, budget, personnel, space and facilitie s planning, Standard OperatingProcedures (SOP) and policy creation, main tenance, and dissemination for the Departmentof Orthopaedic Surgery. Thisposition reports to the Department Chief Administrative Of ficer (CAO) andsupports other key leadership roles within the Department .
Wo rk Performed
Administera program of propert y management and accountability with departmental personnelto coordinate operational activities that review and support space andfacilities need s including building access, purchasing, maintenance andrenovation activ ities for the department.
Manageand direct departmen t events on behalf of the Department Chair and CAO. Direct theplanning a nd event budget / expenses in collaboration with Director of Finance.
Managethe faculty hire process that includes interfacin g with Recruitment, DMRupdates andbuild out, on boarding and off boardi ng faculty hires/terminationsand faculty offer letter routing. Dfac and iforms entry management.
Managethe quality reporting for the department including FPPE and OPPE reporting.
Developand manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Department.
Managethe department space database, copier leases, contract management/database development/MOU/PSA/S ervice Level Agreements.Track all updates/changes and termination of agr eements.
Manage the annual Academic Points and Faculty E valuation process, providesupport for the Faculty Mentoring program in s upport of the Vice Chair.
Overseethe development and maintenance of the electronic FDS (Faculty DevelopmentSystem).
Managespecial projects for the Department Chair and CAO.
Serveas liaison with administrative a nd professional personnel concerning departmentalpolicies and procedures , personnel administration, and budgetary preparationand control for des ignated projects.
Superviseand coordinate work of des ignated employees including APT Coordinator, and two
Staff Assistants, ma nage personnel activities to meet University anddepartmental objectives in training, equal pay, equal employment and wage andsalary administrati on, and advise on employment terms of faculty andadministration of appoi ntment procedure.
Preparereports and analyses to incl ude financial reports, setting forth progress,adverse trends and appropr iate recommendations or conclusions.

Work requires a general business back ground generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business related field.
Work requires 4 years related business or administrative experience to EXPERIENCE OR ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR functions. acquire competence in applying general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles and coordination of major administrative A master's degree in a business related field may be substituted for 2 years experience.
