GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:In February 2019, the Massachusetts General Hospital established the MGH Center for Gun Violence Prevention, an interdisciplinary and collaborative center dedicated to advancing the safety and health of children and adults through gun violence prevention research, clinical care, education, and community engagement. The vision of the Center is to develop and advance a comprehensive, hospital-based program dedicated to mitigating gun violence and promoting injury prevention by approaching gun violence as the public health epidemic that it is.The Center has 3 main pillars: * Clinical and Education: dedicated to empowering front-line clinicians across disciplines with tools to prevent firearm-related violence and developing educational opportunities for training in research methodologies and violence prevention education and methods * Research: dedicated to rigorous research, disseminated through peer-reviewed publications, focused on the nature, causes, consequences, prevention, and treatment of firearm-related violence * Community Engagement: dedicated to developing community-based partnerships to establish and advance violence prevention and intervention efforts by engaging stakeholders across theCommonwealth of MassachusettsUnder the direct supervision of the Co-directors of the Center (Drs. Chana Sacks and Peter Masiakos), the administrative director will support the Center and its three pillars in accomplishing these goals and objectives.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide excellent leadership and execution to the Center for Gun Violence Prevention. Under the direction of the co-directors, the administrative manager will work closely with leaders to *
  • Facilitate a strategic planning process to more fully develop implementation plans for each of the three major pillars of mission. * Be chiefly responsible for executing that plan under the leadership of Drs. Masiakos and Sacks. * Develop and write, grants and proposals, Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, and research publications. * Develop schedules/timelines, coordinate activities, track project status and measures of success. * Plan, prepare and organize meetings. Create meeting agendas, record minutes and follow-up with team to coordinate next steps. * Research relevant issues and collect/synthesize relevant data from multiple sources. * Monitor and communicate progress, as well as disseminate results of projects. * Develop and distribute materials (e.g. PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, reports) for internal, local and national leaders. * Ensure smooth information flow between involved parties. * Maintain all project documents, data, action items and other key information.Other duties include * Manage the planning, promotion and production of Center-sponsored events, including an annual educational symposium. Assist with the communication and marketing efforts of the Center. * Coordinate speakers, consultants, photographers, media representatives. * Some support work such as scheduling meetings and maintaining distribution lists will be required. * Other duties as assigned.SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:Demonstrated high degree of initiative with ability to conceptualize direction and projects, prioritize work, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Political savvy and the ability to represent the Center with leaders at MGH and within the Greater Boston community * Strong time management, organizational and planning skills and the ability to multitask at a high level. * Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. * Great attention to detail, professionalism and a strong work ethic. * Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced complex environment. * Ability to work independently which includes good judgement about when to seek support. * Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and effectively interact with all levels of MGH. * Experience facilitating and staffing projects that involve interdisciplinary team members a plus. * Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. * Experience with collecting, summarizing and presenting data. * Experience with community outreach and health improvement, achieving health equity and addressing social determinants of health preferred. * Passion for ending the epidemic of gun violence a must.EDUCATION:Minimum Required:Bachelor's DegreePreferred:Master's Degree

S/he supports the operations, policies, and initiatives of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service, the Cardiology Division, and the MGH. Receiving general direction from the Administrative Director for Clinical Operations, the Administrative Manager oversees the operations of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service, which includes the Electrophysiology Lab, Cardiac Device Monitoring Service, ambulatory and inpatient care teams. In collaboration with the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service Chief, Clinical Director, and other members of the leadership team, s/he will oversee and support clinical operations with a view towards enhancing patient care & satisfaction, quality & safety, efficiency, innovation, and growth. S/he supervises clinical support staff and is a resource for the physicians in his/her service-line and colleagues throughout the Cardiology Division and the MGH. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: * Supervise the day-to-day performance of the administrative support staff, technologists, and ambulatory nursing staff * Manage recruitment, orientation, training, performance appraisal, development and coaching of staff * Facilitate regular staff meetings and special trainings, and ensures necessary competencies are evaluated and maintained * Manage staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing to support practice operations * Input payroll and resolve payroll issues PATIENT SATISFACTION: * The Administrative Manager is the first point-of-contact for patient inquiries * Monitor patient service and satisfaction * Evaluate survey results and suggest actions and improvements REVENUE CYCLE MANAGEMENT: * Oversee appointment status reconciliation, referral management, prior authorization, charge entry completion, and order management * Analyze billing lag and process adherence reports, and reconcile missing charges * Ensure insurance eligibility, registration, referral, admissions, and clinical research billing best practices * Identify opportunities to expedite billing & revenue processes * Facilitate resolution of billing issues/questions EXPENSE MANAGEMENT: * Review and analyze monthly/annual expenses, including overtime, temporary staffing, outside services, supplies, postage, etc. * Participate in the preparation of annual revenue and expense budgets ACCESS AND PATIENT FLOW: * Analyze patient flow, provider schedules, and volume and access data. Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to maximize volume, patient access, efficiency, and patient experience.
