The City of Santa Ana is currently accepting applications for the Aquatics Internship program. The internship requires up to 20 hours of work per week. This program is designed to attract, develop and mentor innovative individuals interested in pursuing a career in the public sector.

There is currently one (1) vacancy available in compliance with the City's Strategic Plan; however, this is subject to change.

Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To


  • Assist in promoting the Aquatics Program

  • Assist with coordinating lifeguard training

  • Assist with updating manuals

  • Conduct surveys, research, data input, and data analysis utilizing Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Prepare informational material

  • Perform clerical duties such as filing and answering the phone

  • Assist with special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a college or university at the lower division level (Freshman or Sophomore)

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work up to 20 hours per week which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays (hours may vary)

  • Possession and retention of a valid California Class C driver's license

Bilingual fluency in English and one of the following languages is highly desirable: Spanish, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Hmong, Korean, or Samoan.
