Summary

The HSHS Administrative Fellowship Program provides a dynamic and engaging experience that will positively affect the fellow's ability to provide quality, compassionate care as he or she pursues a career in health care operations. Fellows will be a part of a long-standing and evolving health system, allowing them the opportunity to embrace the mission and ministry of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis. Administrative fellows report directly to HSHS Vice President of Supply Chain, Nalin Kulasekara.

The first several months of the fellowship are devoted to rotations through all key clinical and administrative functions within HSHS. This time allocation also includes rotations with key strategic organizations aligned with HSHS and miscellaneous local, regional and national organizations that play an important role in health care in the region.

The remainder of the program is devoted to project assignments, attending educational conferences and site visits, and attending board meetings, management meetings and retreats. Options for the last 12 months of the program include assignments at either HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois, or HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, Illinois, or HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

  • Proof of graduation from baccalaureate program and enrollment in graduate school curriculum to date from a Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) accredited program.

  • Two reference letters. One reference letter must be from current MHA program director or advisor.
