Job Summary:

The Administrative Fellowship Program at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital offers an opportunity for future health care leaders to gain experience in all aspects of hospital leadership during this 12-month program. Working with Senior Leadership, the Administrative Fellow will be responsible for performing various business support tasks; including the implementation of performance improvement projects, designing cost-benefit studies and utilization management analysis, and the development of organizational policies, procedures, and practices. The Fellow will also apply their skills as an experienced administrative professional to contribute to healthcare business planning and strategic operations. The program includes rotations throughout most departments of the hospital, including participation in Senior Executive and Board meetings. Additionally, the Administrative Fellow will become involved in an array of special projects, many of which are based upon their particular interests. Pay Range: $40 - $42 per hour

Licensure and Certification:

  • N/A

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Health or related field

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of prior work experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in healthcare field preferred.

  • Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with clients and co-workers.

  • Strong communication skills (verbally and in writing).

  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Ability to use logical and scientific thinking to interpret technical data and solve a broad range of problems.

  • Strong computer literacy and analytical skills.

Equipment:

  • The ability to operate a variety of office equipment including copiers, fax machines, printer, scanners and other equipment as required.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.

  • Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.

  • Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.

  • Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.

  • Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
