We're looking for someone to join our team as an Administrative Director, RN who: provides leadership and services in the hospital and local community that address the needs of the patients, families, staff, physicians and co-workers in a safe, caring and professional manner. Performs responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing policies, state regulatory and accrediting requirements and standards of competent performance. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Responsible for the administrative direction and management of the patient care areas. Lead with an operational focus, setting strategy, objectives, and policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Creates and drives a culture and environment of superior quality and patient safety, while maintaining regulatory compliance at the highest standards. Works closely with medical directors and appropriate medical staff to establish clinical standards, discuss Hospital patient care performance problems and needs, and to establish the overall direction for services. Assures that the patient care units maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory and other standards on a regular basis.

  • Assesses unit business strategies on a regular basis and develops new and creative programs and service that are in response to documented market demands. Ensures financial viability and stewardship through revenue enhancement and cost management systems. Keeps staff productivity at the requested level. Negotiates managed care contracts. Seeks out new clinical and/or non-clinical business opportunities that are consistent with the overall Hospital strategic goals.

  • Continually supervises the quality and effectiveness of patient care delivered by assigned employees in the patient care units in consultation with other members of the management and exerts influence and gives direction to employees for patient teaching and other activities as needed. Evaluates overall patient care and related activities to ensure consistency with hospital strategies and objectives. Delivers extraordinary service and customer experience at all times, and motivates staff to also achieve maximal patient or client satisfaction.

  • Establishes staffing ratios within allotted nursing hours. Maintains and meets expectations on time for all related staff by participating in the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, promoting, and discharging staff as needed or directed, and conducting annual employee performance evaluations.

  • Creates engaging workplaces and program strategies that meet the future healthcare needs of the community using new and modernized technology. Empowers and encourages others to contribute creative and innovative approaches to achieve continuous improvement. Promotes effective safety and infection control practices among employees and in the environment, keeping updated on safety and procedures, etc.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing, business, or other healthcare related field or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required

  • Master's Degree: Preferred

Work Experience:

  • Ten years' relevant experience: Preferred

  • Five years' leadership experience: Preferred

  • Four years' experience of acute care nursing in hospital setting: Preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Nurses

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in state of practice: Required

  • National specialty certification in area of expertise or in nursing administration: Preferred

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Preferred

Unit Specific Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Title XXII, Joint Commission, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations: Required

VIEW JOBS 11/18/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-02-16T00:00 Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Primary Care Clinician (PCC) is an experienced RN who is responsible for the overall management of approximately 25 patients including the provision of direct care with a designated visit productivity standard. This position plans, organizes, and directs all patient care services for patients in the assigned caseload in accordance with current standards and regulations, ensuring the optimal degree of quality care is maintained. Responsible for coordinating the interdisciplinary team to implement the established plan of patient care and ensuring effective management of visit utilization and control of expenses. May assist in agency wide orientation, competency evaluations and consultation to clinical staff related to specific expertise as requested by Clinical Manager. The Primary Care Clinician reports directly to the Clinical Manager as do the other members of the interdisciplinary team. The Primary Care Clinician may give functional guidance to Team RNs, LVNs, PTs, OTs, SLPs, MSWs, RDs and HHAs. Education RN graduate from an accredited curriculum. Bachelor's degree in nursing or health related field preferred. Licensure Current California RN license; valid California driver's license; current auto insurance; current BCLS/CPR certification. Experience One year of professional experience in an acute or similar setting required. One year of experience in a home health and/or hospice position preferred. Direct patient care experience within the past five years required. Knowledge Thorough understanding of home care and/or hospice services, Title XXII, Medicare Conditions of Participation, JCAHO home health and/or hospice accreditation requirements, QI outcomes/benchmarking, infection control; good understanding of reimbursement patterns for Medicare and other payors; good working understanding of budget and other financial reports. Clinical competency that meets and exceeds testing levels on a regular basis. Special Skills/Equipment: Self-starter with a high degree of initiative, motivation, flexibility, energy and creativity. Ability to form harmonious working relationships with internal and external customers. Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills and the ability to manage resources for patient care in a cost effective manner. Excellent collaborative and problem solving skills with customers and management. Ability to exercise independent sound judgment in planning and providing patient care. Demonstrated ability in physical, psychosocial, and environmental assessment skills and in implementing plan of treatment. Excellent organizational skills. With appropriate training, demonstrates an ability to competently work with the computerized documentation tools and systems of the organization. Access to a reliable automobile. Must be able to meet company productivity standards as indicated by organization and manager. Must be able to handle sensitive issues, conflict with or among others, respectively direct and reinforce staff efforts; effectively plan and organize and prioritize work, think critically to both effectively plan and organize department operations consistent with Sutter Care at Home's strategic and operating objectives and to effectively solve unique problems as they arise or identify when to consult supervisor. Must be able to deal with challenging work environment with time demands and occasional conflicting priorities.
