Job Summary:
The Administrative Director of Cancer Clinical Trials serves as operational lead of UMMC's Cancer Center and Research Institute (CCRI) clinical trial and clinical research program. The position provides senior leadership and strategic direction for the development and growth of the CCRI Clinical Trials Office. Forming a dyad partnership with the Associate Director of Cancer Clinical Trials (cancer clinical trials medical director), the Administrative Director of Cancer Clinical Trials leads and develops a team of clinical trial, regulatory, finance, and operations professionals; builds strong partnership with internal and external stakeholders; provides direction and guidance to the Associate Director of Cancer Clinical Trials and other CCRI executive leadership to facilitate the achievement of the CCRI's goal of National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Science, Hospital/Healthcare Administration, or a related field
At least ten (10 ) years' increasing responsibility in an academic, healthcare, or research setting; at least 5 years' administrative experience. Demonstrated experience: leading and managing personnel and budgets; developing and leading strategic plans; interacting and influencing stakeholders; ensuring Good Clinical Practice standards and compliance with regulatory requirements; vetting clinical trials for feasibility; utilizing EHR and clinical trial management systems; and training individuals and teams. Experience in a matrixed health system and NCI designated cancer center preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
In coordination with the Associate Director of Cancer Clinical Trials, leads and manages a large organization of clinical trial, regulatory, and operations staff
Develops short- and long-range strategic plans to achieve CCRI executive leadership clinical trial goals, up to and including NCI designation
Tracks and formally reports critical clinical trial success metrics related to financial feasibility, study activation, enrollment, accrual, invoicing/collections, staffing, etc. to PIs, executive CCRI leadership, and clinical partners
Efficiently manages human, fiscal, spatial, and material resources
Establishes operational policies and guidelines and ensures compliance with set standards
Ensures personnel are adequately trained and provided development opportunities for growth
