Essential Job Functions: 1. Coordinates activities and functions within the department to ensure efficient operations.

2.Responds to inquiries requiring in-depth understanding of work-area international student immigration policies and procedures and resolves complex problems to ensure questions are answered and issues resolved in a timely manner.

3.Serves as first point of contact for incoming inquiries for the Office of International Affairs, including greeting at the reception, answering phone calls, and monitoring email account.

4.Composes, edits, proofreads, and types documents and reports, and creates mail merges and performs mass mailings.

5.Reviews and enters data and generates reports from NSU specific software systems to ensure accurate processing and record-keeping; assists with the inputting of student inquiry leads into Ellucian Recruiter and Banner.

6.Prepares travel authorizations and reimbursements in the ARIBA system.

7.Makes purchases, check requests, amongst other in assigned system.

8.Schedules appointments with International Student Immigration Advisors.

9.Coordinates study abroad student's appointments and follow-up visits; communicates with prospective international students; assists with travel registration and pre-departure procedures.



  1. Assists with the scheduling and coordination of Study Abroad Fairs, events for International Education Week, and international student orientation sessions.

  2. Assists with the scheduling and coordination of Glacier Tax Preparation student assistance sessions.

  3. Coordinates and assists with necessary arrangements for faculty-led travel study programs and international recruitment travel.

  4. Maintains and updates web pages and social media channels.

  5. Assists with the hiring, training, and supervision of the front desk graduate assistants.

  6. Completes other projects as required.

  7. Performs other duties as assigned. Marginal Job Functions: Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; database and data entry skills.

5.Excellent written and oral communication skills.

6.Information gathering and monitoring skills; including the ability to prepare reports, while maintaining confidentiality.

8.Working knowledge of student visa requirements.

9.Demonstrate sensitivity in working with international students.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

1.Speech Recognition

3.Near Vision

  • Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

4.May be required to work nights or weekends.

5.May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.

6.May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, mobile devices, and computer keyboards.

Job Requirements: Required Certifications/Licensures: Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Major (if required): Required Experience: High School Diploma and four (4) years of administrative experience, and/or coordinating various projects in an office environment.
