JOB SUMMARY - Administrative Clinical Assistant II - PT/OT:
Department: Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Reports To: Director
This position is primarily responsible for maintaining the department to meet the needs of the therapists so the department can provide excellent patient care. This includes office management and department organizational skills, phone skills, maintaining schedules, preparing patients, space and equipment for treatment, transportation of patients, maintaining supplies and a clean, orderly working environment.
Under the supervision of the physical therapist, occupational therapist or speech therapist; assists in the direct treatment of the patients. This position is responsible for organization of the office and ensuring a smooth flow of patients and patient information. Assists the therapists as needed to for patient care and productivity.
The person filling this position also handles office appointments accurately to keep the therapists scheduled productively. They will track down referrals and authorizations and maintain an effective flow of communication, including telephone and fax communication, within the office. Skills must include the ability to handle a multi-phone system tactfully.
They will demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, excellent organizational skills, follow through independently on tasks and have the ability to anticipate and meet departmental needs. This requires a pro-active, high-energy, detail-oriented, team player with the ability to multitask. The person filling this position must be able to prioritize and complete projects while tolerating frequent interruptions.
These responsibilities are usually shared between two Rehabilitation Aides, but at times one person will be responsible for all duties. The two people sharing these duties must be able to work together and demonstrate effective communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (The following are minimal qualifications necessary for entry into this classification)
Education: High School diploma or the equivalent. Completes annual educational requirements.
Experience: Certified Nursing Assistant or office reception experience preferred. Experience or volunteer work in rehabilitation or medical setting preferred. Computer system experience preferred.

Bartlett Regional Hospital is the largest hospital in Southeast Alaska, providing comprehensive health care services, with 73 acute care beds, 16 alcohol recovery beds and 74 physicians on active staff.
