The Radiological Emergency Planning group is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide clerical and administrative support for the team that protects the health and safety of the sailors, our employees, the public and the environment through emergency preparedness activities.
The position provides administrative and clerical support, to include word processing, distribution of letters and other official documents, retention of historical records, filing, travel and expense tracking, supply administration, and database management. Other support includes the tracking and publishing of Radiological Emergency Response Organization (RERO) performance metrics, generating and processing commitments, and maintaining qualification and training records.
The selected individual is expected to coordinate efforts closely with the Radiological Services Department administrative team, which includes a staff assistant and a clerk, assisting in the completion of departmental administrative tasks.
The ability to interface with all levels of Electric Boat Shipyard and Submarine Base, New London (SUBASE) organizations
The ability to work as a member of a highly functioning team
Capable of supporting field and office work
Strong oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Timely error-free word processing capability
A High School Degree or equivalent
2-5 years of administrative experience
Ability to pass a typing test of at least 45WPM
Proficiency in use of MSOffice products
Outlook (including managing calendars and resources)
Word (including formatting of memorandums and letters in accordance with EB requirements (headers/footers, section breaks, attachments))
Familiarity with Lotus Notes
Familiar with Procedure Gateway
Familiarity with Staples ordering
Proficiency in Concur for travel bookings and expenses
Proficiency in Phantom FoxitPDF document editing and consolidation
