Job Objective: Support the growing National Sales Team with customer, supplier and sales team related projects.


  • Assist in National Calendar maintenance (Microsoft Outlook)
  • Assign supplier and national sales team market work
  • Track vacations and company trips for sales team
  • Maintain sales roster and corresponding reports
  • Assist in new customer, item and brand set up forms
  • Organize and maintain electronic files and folders for division
  • Process broker commissions
  • Invoice miscellaneous samples (donations, consumer tastings and other events)
  • Arrange winery and distillery tours for wholesale, retail and on-premise customers
  • Coordinate travel and related market visit support for EVP, National Sales and Dir of National Business Dev.
  • Assist with event prep for M.S. Walker trade shows, supplier tastings and seminars
  • Track supplier depletion and placement goals as assigned
  • Update Sales Rep Incentive Programs as assigned
  • Reviewing current issues of relevant trade publications & websites and identifying favorably rated MS Walker products
  • Notifying Sales Teams of breaking news, scores, promotions for MS Walker products
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned
  • Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years related work experience
  • Knowledge of wine & spirits terminology
  • Industry/Events Planning experience a plus
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/Outlook
  • Strong knowledge of Skype for Business

In this role you are the expert of the Mercer brand and enthusiastic about the communication platform you have to display your passions and expertise of our product. You have the ability of marketing our products to leaders and executives that are unaware or underutilizing tools that are within their reach. As the Senior communicator this person will be directly responsible for executive & internal communications on behalf of Mercer's more than 8,000 colleagues around the world, leading internal organizational communications in support of business & client priorities. The individual is expected to provide guidance and leadership to Mercer businesses around the world and serves as the communications business partner to functions including Finance, HR, Legal and Compliance, and Digital. As the Leader you will provide critical support to the global business, including documenting, planning and educating business leaders on the timeline of change management communications. Through your expertise and knowledge of internal culture you will advise on best practices and guiding principles to ensure the smoothest transition in those changes. Additionally, you will assist leaders in developing and communications plan for their vision and scope of change as well as advise on the impact it will have on team members. The role is responsible for developing, managing and implementing strategic, globally relevant and actionable internal communications programs that advance organization's strategic objectives, culture, ethics, operational principles and values. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining an integrated, campaign-based approach to internal communications that aligns businesses, functions and regions to deliver culturally appropriate engagement for colleagues. Responsibility * Serves as a senior marketing advisor and establishes uniform tactics that executes on the overall Brand Marketing strategy for the global business unit. * Provides high-level oversight of campaign pipeline and progress to accurately report the budget to business/regional leaders. * Provides appropriate reporting and status updates to business/regional leaders to facilitate regular information sharing. * Takes input from Brand Management team on customer relationship management processes and practices in order to enhance and fully leverage use of the customer relationship management system. * Targets, engages and enriches relationships with internal marketing and communications team to promote campaigns. * Ability to effectively guide and communicate through change management processes, including managing confidential communication with leaders and extracting relevant info for internal communication. * Develop and implement a proactive, integrated, and comprehensive internal and executive communications strategy that engages and informs colleagues on organization's strategic business priorities. * Drive effective internal colleague communications by working with the executive leadership team to understand key strategies and business plans. * Provide advice, counsel, and hands-on support to senior executives regarding effective colleague communications strategies, including video messages, blog posts, social media, small group forums, and other digital platforms. * Support executive internal communications and manage alignment with organizational priorities, including quarterly themes, events, talking points and colleague feedback programs. * Maintain and improve a master calendar of colleague communication activities, providing counsel on timing of important announcements. * Develop proactive internal communication plans for key corporate and thought leadership initiatives. * Ensure style standards for various internal communications are consistent, while adhering to the broader standards within Mercer and MMC. * Monitor and improve metrics and processes to measure the effectiveness of internal communications & colleague engagement initiatives. * Manage and supervise, directly & indirectly, a small team of internal communications colleagues around the world. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree with a major in Business, Public or Media Relations or Communications. * 12-15 years of relevant executive and internal communications experience * Minimum 7 year experience as a Brand, Change Management, Communications Leader. * Minimum 5 years of change management communication experience with direct support at the senior level. * Proven ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines across all levels. * Experience working with marketing tools for internal promotions and campaigns . * Ability to use trackable intelligence for use towards future strategy and goal attainment. * Working in a complex, sales-driven B2B environment, working closely with a wide variety of stakeholders to develop and execute internal communications strategies and tactics. * Proven ability to serve as a trusted and influential advisor and counsellor to C-suite executives, and to cultivate meaningful relationships with senior leaders and individuals of influence. * Demonstrated expertise in storytelling and in developing compelling and segmented narratives for internal stakeholders. * Proven experience with implementing and managing communications technologies, including social intranets and content management systems. * Hands-on experience with emerging employee engagement approaches, in particular digital and mobile capabilities * Ability to understand, tailor and communicate complex business, legal, and technical issues for various audiences. * Proven ability to manage a team and build a pipeline of talent. * Proactive management including multi-tasking complex assignments. * Excellent writing skills. * Superior emotional intelligence. * Global orientation and significant internal exposure. * Ability to work across teams and functions. * Multi-cultural competency. * Excellent judgement. * Ability to produce high quality, high volume deliverables in a dynamic environment.
