We are seeking an enthusiastic professional Administrative Associate who is passionate about cultivating the school's mission and objectives through student instruction, guidance and review in order to ensure successful development of each student. Because of our commitment to community, employment preference is given to residents who live in WV and the New River Community Technical College service area.
This position is a Full-time position for our Greenbrier Valley Campus and will report directly to the Dean, Transfer and Pre-Professional Programs. The position will work collaboratively with management, faculty and staff within the department and college to serve the best interests of the students.
Examples of Duties
The Administrative Associate is responsible for providing high-level administrative support for the LPN-RN Bridge Program, under limited supervision in performing job responsibilities. Job responsibilities support the achievement of the LPN-RN Bridge Program goals and objectives and involves knowledge and protection of student information. Work is performed under general direction, working from established policies and objectives. This position exercises judgment in prioritizing, planning, and organizing own work within time, process, and results requirements; has some flexibility to modify workflow based on need and circumstances. Problems and decisions faced in this position address non-routine questions and situations often requiring investigation and/or research of precedents.
Summary of Responsibilities:

Serve students, both on the phone and in person
Screen visitors/calls and take messages
Schedule appointments and maintain daily calendar for Program Directors and faculty
Prepare and respond to written and electronic correspondence
Prepare/copy/fax documents
Maintain and file records/documents
Establish and maintain student records for the programs assigned (student files, updates,
transcripts, etc.)
Assist in preparation of class schedules, room assignments, etc.
Enter data in BANNER
Work with business office in financial matters pertaining to the programs
Assist with issues in Blackboard, and other IT issues
Coordinate work-study students, as applicable
Filing, copying, etc. as needed to support all faculty
Assist with gathering new hire paperwork for the HR department
Prepare and submit textbook orders
Schedule staff /departmental meetings and take minutes
Order supplies; prepare and submit purchase requisitions
Assist in accreditation processes as directed
Update/maintain student handbooks, program policies and procedures
Assist with commencement duties. Coordinate annual pinning ceremonies
Organize, attend, and take minutes of each of the program Advisory Committee meetings · Attend meetings as required by the College
Assist with each program's community activities
