The position provides support and administrative assistance, as a priority, to the Department Head and secondly, to the faculty and students of the Department of Music and Theatre with moderately complex clerical and administrative tasks and systems to effectively manage the day-to-day functions, activities and events of the Department.
Performs word processing, desktop publishing, presentation, bulletin board upkeep and data management activities, and assists staff with the use of the applications. Prepare recital programs and posters along with guest travel arrangements.
Makes arrangements for meetings, appointments, conferences, and travel. May set up meetings, seminars, and other special events to include facilities, equipment, or materials. Performs mail services, orders office supplies, maintains equipment inventory.
Maintains a variety of fiscal, administrative, and academic records. Posts information to agency records and modifies forms or records such as accrediting agency. Submits personnel and staffing actions in and HR/Payroll System (Workday), Banner, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Applies, interprets, and communicates policies and procedures and serves as a resource for answering questions by faculty, staff, student and visitor/guest.
May coordinate activities and assign work to student workers and support staff. May participate in the hiring training, and supervision of student workers and other support staff.
Performs other duties as assign.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
Three years of related work experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
