Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
This role provides administrative support to managers and directors of the Agricultural & Environmental Services Lab (AESL). Seeks advice and leadership from supervisor for complex issues of those involving authorization such as deviation from policy. Independent action and judgment expected in solving common problems. The position frequently deals with issues of a highly confidential nature and must be able to use discretion effectively. In addition, it serves as primary contact for departmental programs and outside entities.

Provides administrative support to the director and managers.
Assists in the planning, research, development, and implementation of programs and special projects.
Works to promote the overall visibility of the lab through outreach and tours.
Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities
Acts as one of the primary quality assurance/quality control administrators for AESL.
Works alongside IT to clear data flags daily, troubleshoot data entry issues, solving reporting errors, and working to verify and validate reports being sent to clients.

Initiates education and outreach programs to ensure that CAES County Cooperative Extensions are educated and well versed in the services offered by AESL.
Coordinates training sessions with new county secretaries, agents, and other personnel.
Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities
Assist with sample/receiving. Interacts with customers for sample drop-off, answering questions that clients may have, ensuring paperwork is correct, and collecting payment for analysis.
Assists in solving day-to-day issues brought forth by county extension offices.
