What is a typical day in this position?
The Department of Anthropology at Florida State University is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Associate. This role is crucial in managing travel, procurement, and HR transactions, ensuring compliance with university and department policies. You will support the department's academic and research efforts by providing efficient administrative services. In this role, you will be responsible for:
Working closely with Anthropology staff to ensure University, local, state, and federal policies are upheld.
Serving as the primary travel representative for the department submitting, monitoring, tracking, and reviewing travel authorizations, expense reports, and non-travel reimbursements.
Ensuring all procurement activities comply with Federal, State, and University policies. Preparing and entering requisitions, change orders, and payment request forms. This includes
obtaining product information, ensuring proper authorization has been obtained and entering procurement/receiving information in the purchasing system.
Supporting HR transaction entry. May enter Faculty, Staff, Graduate Assistant, and OPS personnel actions with adherence to HR, University, and College policies and guidelines.
The Administrative Associate plays a crucial role in the success of the Anthropology Department. By serving in this position, you will contribute directly to the success of the academic teaching and research efforts at Florida State University!
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)

Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipated starting salary for the position will be $36,250, starting salary will be offered commensurate with experience and qualifications.
