Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity in Birmingham, Alabama available for an Administrative Assistant to support our Treasury group.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Provide general administrative support to Treasury managers and employees

  • Retrieve daily bank reports

  • Input data from bank reports on Daily Banking Transaction Spreadsheet which calculates planned cash position

  • Send correspondence to bank on investment or redemption request based on the planned cash position

(time sensitive with deadlines)

  • Complete Daily Banking Transaction package with J/E sheets generated from the Daily Banking Transaction Spreadsheet

  • Update various bank related spreadsheets

  • Check actual bank activity to planned activity and complete daily cash position analysis report

  • Set up book transfers as needed

  • Initiate wires requested

  • Retrieve positive pay exception reports from bank, communicate exceptions, and input decisions

  • Initiate stop pays - (verify check not cleared before issuing stop, and determine most cost-effective method based on the situation)

  • ACH transfers

  • Complete cash receipts for bank to process

  • Balance RDC and all other cash receipts from cash receipts payment application software

  • Conduct bank correspondence, administration, and research on various bank accounts, including short term investments, escrow accounts, letters of credit, etc.

  • Organize monthly statements and follow up on any missing statements. Update spreadsheets

from the statement information

  • High school diploma required / Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an office environment - accounting, banking or finance department experience is strongly preferred

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel

  • Ability to work well with numbers

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Initiative, discretion, tact, and adaptability to manage multiple task with time sensitive deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask

  • Ability to work on company holidays that are not bank holidays
