Position Title Administrative Assistant to the Dean - Dauch College of Business and Economics Job Description
The Administrative Assistant represents the Dauch College of Business and Economics (COBE) Dean's Office and interacts on a daily basis with administrators, faculty members, students, and outside organizations and individuals.
- Responsible for keeping dean's calendar and agendas, including scheduling and supporting meetings through presentation preparation and minutes.
- As the face of the Dean's Office, faculty and student support are critical to this role.
- Daily customer service tasks range from faculty and student inquiries, email/phone requests, scheduling needs, and general office coordination.
- Event planning and management are essential functions, including COBE Career Day, Heffern Lecture, and the Morgan Center Lecture Series.
- Office management responsibilities include supply and hospitality orders and technology support.
- Human resources support includes coordination of annual evaluations across the college and maintaining personnel files.
- This role is often tasked with finding solutions to unusual situations.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years experience in administrative office practices and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, including discretion, tact, and confidence
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and demonstrate excellent organizational skills
- Astute decision-making skills
- Adept at building relationships across campus
- Familiar with office technology including printers, audio/visual, etc
- Proficient in all Microsoft programs
- Experience with large event management, such as speaker luncheons
- Competent in the procurement process including budget knowledge, vendor relationships, and invoice processing
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher education experience preferred
- Familiar with university systems such as Ellucian Colleague, BudgetPak, and PeopleAdmin
