DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Receive and direct individuals (customers/employees) to appropriate offices/departments.
2.Answer telephone calls and transfer to the proper offices.
3.Process incoming and outgoing mail for the superintendent's office.
4.Order and maintain supplies as needed.
5.Publish public, legal notices concerning district business.
6.Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent data as needed using a variety of technology applications.
7.Schedule appointments and make arrangements for conferences and interviews.
8.Take and transcribe dictation of various types, including correspondence, reports, notices, and recommendations.
9.Maintain employee absence report for central office staff and input all employee leave into database.
Enforce Board of Education policy regarding the approval of leave requests to ensure compliance.
Respond to written and verbal inquiries from district employees, applicants and public. Facilitate communication among parties and/or provide direction.
Assist in organization and oversight of orientation programs for staff.
Maintain a variety of manual and electronic documents, files and records.
Recommend procedures and/or actions for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the district's goals and objectives.
Identify potential problems or opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to superintendent.
Participate in meetings, workshops and seminars at the request of superintendent.
Coordinate the recruitment and hiring process for positions within the district.
Evaluate applications for completeness, accuracy and to ensure qualifications are met.
Set up and assist with employment interviews for vacant faculty and staff positions when required.
Provide protocol regarding applicant fingerprinting, drug testing, physical clearances, and pre-employment requirements.
Ensure incoming and active employees do not have a criminal conviction that would prohibit working with students and staff. Address concerns accordingly.
Receive, gather, and provide information on Verification of Employment for employees.
Maintain active personnel files and report personnel status changes to appropriate departments.
Perform a variety of specialized and confidential duties related to the employment and credentialing of the district's certified and classified personnel to ensure compliance with applicable policies, laws, codes, rules and regulations.
Assist in the preparation, interpretation and administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Work in conjunction with Curriculum and Instruction Director to review and approve requests for course work taken for salary reclassification purposes.
Coordinate the development and updating of job descriptions and evaluation protocols.
Prepare the personnel report for Board of Education meetings.
Serve as custodian of all regular and confidential personnel records.
Administer the employee grievance procedure adopted by the Board of Education.
Conduct exit interviews for retiring or exiting personnel.
Give public notice, attend all meetings of the Board of Education, take minutes, prepare and distribute packets for Board of Education meetings.
Prepare divisional related action items and monthly reports for the Board of Education's review.
Attend board work sessions and meetings as requested by the superintendent.
Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee will perform most of their work in an office setting. May be required to travel to approved workshops.
MAXIMUM EXPERIENCE ALLOWED: Fifteen (15) years.
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Twelve (12) months. 236 working days.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on Evaluation by the Superintendent.
