This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, as well as retirement.  

Salary Grade: NC02

  • Recruitment Range: $31,200 to $42,770*

The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant is to facilitate mailroom operations including delivery of outgoing mail on a daily basis to USPS, Commerce Downtown, DES, and other destinations as necessary.  The position will manage fixed assets including annual inventories, local, and external.  It will submit purchase requisitions for goods and services with following through to completion/closure of the purchase order.  The position will provide administrative support including being the back up to the division receptionist.

  • Working knowledge of E-Procurement program, policies, and procedures and the ability to apply this knowledge in performance of office support tasks.

  • Working knowledge of data collection and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information.

  • Working knowledge of and ability to use correct spelling, punctuation, and specialized vocabulary.

  • Ability to clearly communicate and interpret program information to clients, customers, and staff.

  • Ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups; ability to adjust language or terminology to meet needs of the recipient(s).

  • Ability to present ideas in written form; ability to use correct grammar, organization, and structure.

  • Ability to utilize office equipment and other technology (software and systems) to meet work needs.

  • Ability to facilitate the flow of work and coordinate office support activities with other staff; ability to maintain internal and external contacts for work coordination.

  • Ability to understand issues and to identify problems and opportunities to determine the appropriate course of action.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
