St. Joseph's University seeks a full-time Administrative Assistant for the Office of Financial Aid at its Long Island campus. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Financial Aid, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support and excellent customer service to a diverse population of students, staff and faculty. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating mailings, serving as the primary point of contact for telephone calls, and document and file management.
Responsibilities:
File management, record keeping and document imaging
Opening and processing mail
Monitoring and ordering office supplies
Answering financial aid questions and providing support to students via e-mail, telephone, and other communication methods
Scheduling appointments for financial aid counselors
Assisting the Director and Associate Director with special projects and other duties as assigned
Supervising approximately two student workers
Representing the office at special events (Open House, Admitted Students Day)
Qualifications:
Associate's degree preferred
One to two years of related experience preferred
Strong analytical , organizational, and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

Starting Salary: $34,000

The position is a full-time, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. position; however, some evening and/or weekend hours may be required during peak processing times or for recruitment events. Periodic travel for professional development and training may also be necessary. This position will require working both at our campus located in Patchogue, at our off campus location in Great River.
