NYIT's College of Engineering and Computing Sciences seeks an Administrative Assistant located at the New York City campus.
Report to the Manhattan Chair of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs in ECE (Electrical and Computer Engineering) and CS (Computer Science) :
Assist with student advisement including international student cohorts and course and faculty schedules planning.
Responsible for office organization and filing.
Assistance with assessment and accreditation reports and materials in NY (ABET) and globally.
Responsible for requisitions and invoices.
Competency with NYIT Software Systems: PeopleSoft; Faculty Compensation (FacComp); Capital Budget (CPRS); Oracle Recruitment Authorizations (RAs) and other entries as needed.
Assist with FT and Adjunct faculty and staff hiring.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair and Dean.
Report to the Dean, College of Engineering and Computing Sciences:
Assist with student recruitment.
Outreach communications to students, faculty, and external stakeholders (industry advisory board, alumni, and employers).
Participate in student retention activities, the Dean's Honors programs, and the BS-MS Accelerated Program.
Attend events at both NY campuses (New York City and Long Island).
Work as a liaison between different departments within and outside of the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences and other NYIT offices (i.e. Career Services, Enrollment Services, Student Affairs, Financial Affairs).
A Bachelor's degree is preferred. If Associate's degree is the highest degree, we would require 1-2 years of Administrative support experience; if a high school diploma is the highest degree, we would require 2-3 years of Administrative support expereince. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and strong computer, organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
