Under the supervision of the Director of Special Services, this person performs office functions for this area. This person is responsible for keeping the Director of Special Services informed as to all matters affecting special education. This person is also responsible for the efficient operation and smooth workflow of the office.
Education and Work Experience:
Minimum of a high school graduate or G.E.D equivalent plus one year of additional technical/business training or its equivalent is required. One to two year(s) of progressively more responsible office experience is highly desirable.
This job includes but is not limited to any or all of the following skills, duties and responsibilities:
Excellent oral and written communications skills and attention to detail
Word processing, spreadsheet
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Knowledge of student database
Telephone, computer, typing and filing skills.
Report typing for special education staff including special services plans, speech and language reports, special service staff.
Type documents for one building evaluation team.
Manage staff expenditure accounts, timesheets and logging reports
Coordinate and schedule IEPT meetings for assigned buildings.
Process referrals for assigned team.
Process 30-day waivers.
Track caseload numbers for elementary special education classes.
Other duties as needed or assigned.
